Impotent men urged to get a grip

Lloydspharmacy is urging men who are too embarrassed to visit their doctors to tackle penile issues, such as premature ejaculation and impotency, to visit its online doctor service in a new campaign devised by TDA.
The push, the second by TDA since it won the account last year, comprises a responsive ad featuring men with carefully placed hats, which asks the crucial question: “Guess which of these men got treatment from our online doctor?”
Ads will appear in the March edition of FHM, in panels in a number of washrooms across the UK from this week, and a selection of national press titles, including The Guardian, over the course of this year.
The campaign concentrates on treatment for erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation. It gives men the opportunity to access genuine treatments for potentially embarrassing conditions, all of which can be purchased online from the comfort and privacy of their own home. They can then pick up their medication from their local pharmacy, or have them delivered discreetly to their home address.
“Men are not great at going to see their doctor at the best of times, so when it comes to problems seen as embarrassing, they’re even more unlikely to make the visit,” said Claire Bayliss, director of marketing at Lloydspharmacy. “This is where the Lloydspharmacy Online Doctor fits perfectly. It offers men a place to come for a quick and discreet solution from a team of fully qualified doctors, all from the privacy of their own home.”
Corinne Leloup, senior account director at TDA, added: “Using innuendo can act as an effective icebreaker, and that’s exactly what we’ve tried to do here. The Lloydspharmacy Online Doctor service offers expert care and confidential advice without the inconvenience or embarrassment of having to visit your doctor. We hope this campaign will not just raise awareness of the service, but will encourage more men to get the treatment they’ve been too embarrassed to ask about before.”
The Lloydspharmacy Online Doctor offers online healthcare advice service and is staffed by experienced professionals (GPs) during office hours (9am-5pm, Monday to Friday). If consultations are completed outside of this, doctors will respond the next working day.
